Live keys today · No site inspection
Credit data in your app today, not next quarter.
Send a phone number. Get back their name, address, phone risk signals, FICO® Score 4 and full credit profile as clean JSON, with every tradeline just $2 more. No bureau credentialing, no office inspection, no weeks of paperwork.
Skip the red tape
Bureau data without the bureau gauntlet.
Getting credit data straight from a bureau usually means weeks of applications, a stranger walking through your office, and fees before your first lookup. We already did all of that, so you don’t have to.
| Going direct to a bureau | With us | |
|---|---|---|
| Application | Membership review: articles of incorporation, business licenses, EIN letter, bank and trade references, background checks on the owners | Sign up online |
| Site inspection | A third-party inspector visits to confirm a commercial office, locked file storage, shredding and restricted access. Home offices often don’t qualify. | None. Work from anywhere. |
| Security review | Security questionnaires and audits, often repeated every year | We hold the bureau relationship and its audits |
| Cost to start | Setup fees, membership fees and monthly minimums | $49 a month. No lookup minimums. |
| Integration | Bureau-specific connections and fixed-format report files | One request, clean JSON |
| More bureaus | A separate contract, approval and integration for each one | One account. Equifax and Experian on request. |
| Time to first lookup | Usually weeks, sometimes months | Today |
Bureau requirements vary by bureau and use. This is a typical picture, not any one bureau’s rules.

One number, the whole picture
Everything a phone number can tell you.
One lookup returns four kinds of answers. Use the ones you need and ignore the rest.
Who it is
Their full name, matched to the number.
Where they live
Their current address, ready to prefill.
Is the phone real
Line type, carrier, caller ID and a fraud score.
How’s their credit
Their score, credit profile and trended income. Every tradeline for $2 more.
No code? No problem.
Our Zapier integration is here, in beta. Connect lookups to the thousands of apps your team already uses: forms, CRMs, spreadsheets, team chat and more. Every trigger is instant, and test mode is free. No developer needed.

Let your AI agents look people up.
Our MCP server plugs lookups straight into AI assistants, agents and coding tools that support the Model Context Protocol. Ask in plain English and the agent pulls the profile, explains it and takes the next step.

Reps ask their assistant to pre-qualify a caller, summarize the profile and draft the right offer, without leaving the CRM.
Fraud and support agents
Agents check that a caller owns the number, flag VoIP and high fraud scores, and send risky sign-ups to a person.
Guardrails built in
Same purposes, balance and logs as the API. Agents must state a permissible purpose, test mode works for practice, and you can cap spend or require a person to approve each pull.
How connecting works
Sign in once. No key to paste.
Assistants and apps connect with OAuth 2.1. You approve exactly what each one can do on our page, and you can disconnect it from your account any time.
- Add the addressPaste the server address into your assistant as a custom connector, or point your app at our OAuth server.
- Choose its accessPick what it may do, live or test, a monthly spending limit, whether a person approves each paid lookup, and how long it stays connected.
- Ask awayThe agent runs lookups as tools. Every call shows in your logs with the app’s name, and you get an email when anything new connects.

The report
A full credit file from one phone number.
Not just a score. Every lookup comes back with who they are, what they earn, what they owe and how they pay, in clean JSON you can drop straight into a decision.
- Your pick of score. FICO® Score 4 or VantageScore® 4.0, with the key factors behind it.
- Trended income and debt-to-income. See whether they can afford the payment, not just whether they pay.
- Debt by type. Cards, auto, mortgage, student loans, medical, collections and more, with balances and past-due amounts.
- Their credit profile. Card usage, on-time rate, history length, accounts, total debt, available credit, inquiries and collections.
- Every tradeline for $2 more. Each account’s lender, balance, limit and 24 months of payments.
Every lookup includes
Everything you’d get from a bureau. And then some.
Identity
Full name and current address matched to the number, plus line type, carrier, caller ID name and a 0–100 fraud score.
Score and key factors
FICO® Score 4 or VantageScore® 4.0, from 300 to 850, with the top reasons it isn’t higher. Ready for adverse action notices.
Trended income
Estimated income and how it’s moved over time, plus debt-to-income. Send verified income and we’ll use that instead.
Credit profile
Credit card usage, on-time payment rate, length of credit history, number of accounts, total debt, available credit, recent inquiries and collections.
Debt by type
Count, balance and past-due amount for credit cards, auto, mortgage, federal and private student loans, medical, collections, government debt and utilities. Secured and unsecured, too.
File status
Plain flags for a frozen file, a file too new to score, an address that didn’t match, or no file at all. No match means no charge.
Credit profile + tradelines
Start with the profile. Unlock every account for $2.
Every lookup comes with their credit profile. Need the detail an underwriter sees? Add tradelines for just $2 more per report: every account, every payment, every inquiry.

Turn “what’s your number?” into “you’re approved.”
Your customer is ready to buy right now. A phone number is all you need to pre-qualify them before they cool off, walk out or shop your competitor.
- Shorter applications. Prefill name and address from the phone number. Fewer fields, more finished applications.
- Answers while they’re still engaged. Show financing options in seconds, not after a callback.
- The right offer the first time. Match terms, down payment and products to their score band.
Ways teams use it
From the first hello to the signed deal.
Instant pre-qualification
The customer taps “check my options,” you send the number, and they see real offers before they leave the page or the lot.
Point-of-sale financing
Auto, powersports, RV, solar, HVAC, roofing and home improvement. Know what to offer before you write up the deal.
Smarter lead routing
Send strong-credit applicants to your closers and the rest to second-look lenders or a different product.
Prefilled applications
Name and address fill in from the phone number. Every field you drop means more people finish.
Speed to lead
Call your pre-qualified applicants first. Your reps spend their day on deals that can actually close.
Right-sized offers
Set down payments, terms and upgrades by score band, so you never over-ask a great customer or overextend a risky one. Unlock tradelines to see their current auto loan or mortgage payment.
Built for
Always with permission. Credit data needs a permissible purpose, like a customer asking you for financing. Ask first, send purpose=consent, and keep their OK on file. Cold lists and lead screening without consent aren’t allowed.
Stop fraud
Know who’s really on the other end.
Fraudsters can fake a name, borrow an address and buy a burner in minutes. Faking all of it at once, and matching a real credit file, is much harder. One lookup checks every piece.
- Does the name match the number? Compare what they typed to who the number belongs to.
- Is it a real phone? Spot VoIP, prepaid and throwaway numbers before they get through.
- Is there a real history? A brand-new identity with no credit file is a classic synthetic-ID red flag.
- Whose accounts are they? Tradelines show when a file is built mostly on someone else’s cards as an authorized user, a common way to fake good credit.
Where it helps
Stop it at the front door.
Account opening
Check every new account against the phone, the name and the credit file before it’s approved, not after the first chargeback.
Synthetic identities
Made-up people built from real pieces rarely have a deep credit history. Thin file plus new number plus VoIP? Take a second look.
Call center checks
Confirm the caller before you reset a password, move money or change an address. The number should belong to the account holder.
High-ticket orders
Big orders, rush shipping and financing applications get a quick identity check before they ship.
Fake sign-ups and promo abuse
Throwaway numbers can’t claim the same new-customer bonus a hundred times.
Junk leads
Filter fake and mistyped leads out of your funnel before your team spends time on them.
Phone details (line type, carrier, caller ID and fraud score) come with every lookup. Credit data is only for permissible purposes, like an application or account the customer started.
Rentals & property
Screen applicants from the first call.
Landlords, property managers and rental companies spend hours on showings and paperwork with people who were never going to qualify. With the applicant’s OK, find out in seconds.
- Pre-screen before the showing. Applicants opt in with their phone number. You see who qualifies before anyone drives over.
- Confirm who you’re meeting. Make sure the name on the application matches the number that called.
- Set deposits by score. Lower deposits for strong credit, higher for thin files. Fair, fast and consistent.
- See how they pay. The credit profile shows their on-time rate and collections. Tradelines show every late payment and past-due balance.
Apartments & homes
Property managers and landlords qualify renters before the tour and fill out leases from the lookup.
Car & equipment rental
Set the deposit and decide on the upgrade at the counter, in the time it takes to scan a license.
Fewer no-shows and scams
VoIP and throwaway numbers stand out before you hand over keys or block off a showing.
Turning someone down? If you deny an application or ask for a bigger deposit because of their credit, the FCRA requires an adverse action notice. The notice has to name the bureau that supplied the report, and every response tells you which one it was.
One request
Just send the number.
A phone number and your reason for the lookup are all it takes. Prefer the traditional way? Send name, address, date of birth and SSN too.

Bureaus
TransUnion today. All three when you need them.
Every lookup runs on TransUnion, scored with FICO® Score 4 or VantageScore® 4.0. If your business needs Equifax or Experian too, we can turn them on for your account.
FICO® Score 4 or VantageScore® 4.0, trended income and the full credit profile on every lookup. Tradelines for $2 more.
Add Equifax for a second view of the same person, in the same response.
Add Experian for full three-bureau coverage without a second contract or integration.
Why three bureaus
Some decisions need the full picture.
- Lender and investor rules. Some programs ask for more than one bureau, or a middle score.
- Fill the gaps. Not every lender reports to every bureau. A thin file at one can be a full file at another.
- Bigger decisions. Mortgages, large loans and commercial leases deserve a second and third opinion.
- Same API. No new contract with each bureau, no new integration. Just more data in the same response.

FAQ
Questions, answered.
How to get started, staying compliant, what’s in the data, and how billing works.
Getting started
How fast can I be up and running?
Today. Sign up, confirm why you’re pulling credit, and your test and live keys are ready right away. Most teams send their first live lookup within the hour.
Do I need bureau credentialing or a site inspection?
No. Going direct to a bureau usually means a membership application, an on-site inspection of your office, security audits and weeks of waiting. We hold the bureau relationship, so you skip all of it. You still agree to our terms and only pull credit for a permissible purpose (see Compliance).
Can I search the traditional way, with name, address, date of birth and SSN?
Yes. The phone number is always part of the search, and you can send any of these with it:
first_nameandlast_nameaddress(street, city, state, ZIP)date_of_birthssnemail
They search name and address records as well as the number, so they find files the number alone can’t: a new number, a family plan, a recent port. If a lookup comes back no_match, retry it with their name. It’s the same price, and no match is still free. You can do the same from Check a number in your portal.
The SSN is encrypted the moment it arrives. Answers say what you searched with in searched_with, with only the SSN’s last 4.
Do you have an MCP server for AI agents?
Yes. Add https://phonenumbercreditscore.com/mcp to any AI assistant, agent or coding tool that supports the Model Context Protocol. It offers lookup_phone, unlock_tradelines, get_lookup, list_lookups, get_usage, get_balance, get_account, list_requests, check_approval and sandbox_numbers, so an agent can pre-qualify a caller, summarize their credit profile, flag fraud risk and draft the next step.
It connects with OAuth: you sign in on our page and choose what the assistant may do, live or test, a monthly spending limit and whether a person approves each paid lookup. The same rules apply as the API: a permissible purpose on every pull and the customer’s permission. It’s included with the API plan.
Can other apps connect to my account?
Yes, with OAuth 2.1. An app sends you to our sign-in page, you choose its access with 8 separate scopes, and it gets tokens that expire, rotate and stop the moment you disconnect it. You can register your own OAuth apps on API / Developer → Apps & AI, and every connection shows there with what it spent this month.
Is there a test mode?
Yes. Keys that start with pncs_test_ return example people for any number and are never charged. Switch to your pncs_live_ key when you’re ready.
Do I need a developer?
For the API, yes, but it’s one request and most developers finish in an afternoon. Teams that don’t write code can use our Zapier integration, now in beta: look people up from forms, CRMs and spreadsheets, with instant triggers.
Compliance & permission
Do I need the customer’s permission?
Yes. Credit reports are covered by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and you can only pull one with a permissible purpose. For most API customers that’s the simplest one: the customer’s own written permission.
Tell us your purpose on every request with the purpose field, like consent or credit_application.
Can the permission be in my Terms or application?
Yes. It doesn’t have to be a separate form. A clear line in your Terms of Service, credit application, sign-up flow or financing form works, as long as the customer actively agrees to it. A checkbox or a button that says what they’re agreeing to is best, not a link buried in the footer. For example:
By checking this box, I authorize [Your Company] and its service providers to obtain my credit report and score from TransUnion to [review my application for financing]. This won’t affect my credit score.
Keep a record of who agreed, when, and the exact wording they saw. We may ask to see it.
What counts as a permissible purpose?
The common ones for API customers:
- The customer’s written permission, including a checkbox or e-signature.
- A credit application or other transaction the customer started, like financing a car or a roof.
- Renting an apartment, home, car or equipment they applied for.
- Reviewing an existing account the customer has with you.
- Insurance underwriting for a policy they asked about.
Not allowed: screening cold lead lists, marketing to people who never asked, checking on someone out of curiosity, and employment screening (that needs a separate disclosure process we don’t support).
Will the lookup hurt their credit score?
No. It’s a soft inquiry, so it has no effect on their score and other lenders don’t see it.
What if I turn someone down because of their report?
If you deny an application, charge more, or ask for a bigger deposit because of what’s in a credit report, the FCRA requires you to send an adverse action notice. It names TransUnion as the bureau, says the bureau didn’t make the decision, and tells the person they can get a free copy of their report and dispute anything wrong. If a score played a part, include the score and its key factors, which come back in every response.
How do I have to protect the data?
Treat it like the sensitive data it is: encrypt it, limit who can see it, keep it only as long as you need it, and never resell or share it. Financial businesses are also covered by the FTC’s Safeguards Rule under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act.
Does credit permission let me text or call them?
No. Permission to pull credit is not permission to market to someone. Calls and texts have their own consent rules under the TCPA. Get that consent separately.
Do you check how I use it?
Yes. Every lookup is logged with its purpose. We may ask for your consent records, and we turn off keys that are used without a permissible purpose. It protects you, your customers and the data everyone relies on.
The data
What’s in a report?
Every lookup includes their name, current address, phone details, a FICO® Score 4 or VantageScore® 4.0 with its key factors, trended income and debt-to-income, and their credit profile: credit card usage, on-time payment rate, length of credit history, number of accounts, total debt, available credit, recent inquiries, collections and debt by type.
Add tradelines for $2 more to get every account, payment and inquiry. See The report for the full list.
What is trended income?
An estimate of the person’s income and how it has moved over time, not just a single snapshot. Paired with their monthly debt payments it gives you debt-to-income, so you can see whether they can afford a payment as well as whether they pay on time. If you’ve verified their income yourself, send it as income and we’ll use it for debt-to-income instead.
What are tradelines, and what do they cost?
Tradelines are the individual accounts on someone’s credit file. Unlocking them adds every account, open and closed: the lender, account type, whose account it is (theirs, joint or an authorized user), when it was opened and closed, balance, limit, highest balance, monthly payment, term, last payment, past-due amount, up to 24 months of payment history with 30, 60 and 90-day lates, and the bureau’s remarks, like a repossession or an account the lender closed. You also get every inquiry by company and date, and public records like bankruptcies.
It’s $2 more per report, so $9.50 a lookup in total. Add include=tradelines to the request, or unlock them later on a past lookup with POST /v1/lookups/{id}/tradelines.
Can I get VantageScore instead of FICO?
Yes. Set score_model=vantage4 for VantageScore® 4.0, or make it your account’s default. FICO® Score 4 (fico4) is the default. Same price either way.
Why FICO Score 4?
It’s the FICO® Score that TransUnion provides for mortgage lending, one of the most widely used scores for big decisions. More on FICO Score 4.
What if the number is new, shared or a business line?
Phone details tell you the line type and carrier, and the name in the response tells you who the number belongs to. If it isn’t who you expected, send their name, address, date of birth or SSN to search the traditional way.
What if there’s no match, a frozen file or a thin file?
No match means no charge. If we find the person but their file is frozen or too new to score, the response tells you which, and it counts as a lookup because we found them. A frozen file opens again once they lift the freeze with TransUnion.
Plans & billing
How am I billed?
Your plan ($49 a month or $149 a year), plus lookups paid from a balance you add funds to in advance: $7.50 for each lookup that finds a match, and $2 more for each report you unlock tradelines on. Auto-refill tops the balance up from your card when it runs low, so lookups never stop; set the amount or turn it off any time. No setup fees.
Is there a monthly limit? Do you have volume pricing?
There’s no monthly cap on lookups; only a spending limit you set yourself can pause them. From 1,000 lookups a month you qualify for volume rates: lower per-lookup pricing and priority support. We’ll reach out when you get there, or email [email protected].
Can I get Equifax and Experian?
Yes, on request. Email [email protected] with what you’re building and how many lookups you expect.
Can I cancel?
Any time. Monthly plans stop at the end of the month. Your keys turn off when the plan ends. Your balance is prepaid and isn’t refunded (see our Refund Policy), so add only what you’ll use.
This isn’t legal advice. It’s a plain-English starting point. Talk to your own lawyer about your use case, especially before you turn anyone down based on a report.
Still wondering about something? Email [email protected] and a real person will get back to you.
